The story behind the artwork

Though most obviously a botanical, blossom is also based on an underwater creature called the nudibranch. As a diver, encounters with these creatures have been the single most inspirational activity for my work as an artist. I have another piece called muse, which is another image of a nudibranch. They are tiny blind sea slugs usually donned in magnificent colors and patterns. The fact they are ignorant of being visual masterpieces only endears them to me more.
