The story behind the artwork

The first time I saw a nudibranch it was while I was diving. I thought I was looking at an alien from another planet! I've come to admire the nudibranch for its amazing colorations, flowing forms, and mastery of camouflage. The earthly creatures in this painting have been caught in the act of doing what earthlings do best, engaging in the art of reproduction.
