The story behind the artwork

Part of my "elements" series that focuses on desert landscapes, mirage explores the natural phenomenon of light refraction. The two canvases are separated by a void representing a fuzzy separation between reality and illusion.

By combining highly texturized canvases with metallic paints a unique shimmering landscape appears that varies according to light source and viewpoint. A must see in person!
