The story behind the artwork

Part of my "elements" series that focuses on desert landscapes, duststorm explores the element of wind through the powerful and frightening occurrence of a desert dust storm. This image came to me in a dream, as I have not yet experienced one for myself.

By combining highly texturized canvases with metallic paints a unique shimmering landscape appears that varies according to light source and viewpoint. A must see in person!
